Hello my name is John Walkoe.  A few words of introduction.  I currently live in Pennsylvania.  I graduated with a major in Political Science and a minor in Russian from Rutgers.  I also hold several advanced IT certifications (MCP, MCSA, MCSE, A+, and Network+).

Some of my hobbies include Photography, digital photography, reading, computers, and traveling.

Travels

I have done some extensive traveling. In high school I was on the People to People's student ambassador program. I traveled across northern Europe for about a month.

Then when I was in college I spent my Junior year studying in St. Petersburg, Russia on AIFS Study Abroad in Russia. I spent my winter vacation Eurorailing throughout Europe.

After I graduated from college, I went on another year long Russian program, "Russia as She is". This program was unique as we traveled across the breadth of Russia studying in different cities.  I spent time in in Nizni Novgorod, St. Petersburg, Chelyabinsk, Moscow, Khabarovsk, Tomsk, and Izhevsk.

After the program ended, I managed to get a job at the U.S. Embassy in Moscow as a local hire. I worked there for a year taking quite a few trips abroad during my off time.

I then spent a half of a year studying in Paris at the Sorbonne.

More recently, I volunteered on the US-Russia Volunteer Initiative (USRVI) program.  While on the program I traveled to Ulan-Ude and did some work with local NGOs in the sphere of cultural and historical preservation.
